Physiotherapy Services
Physiotherapists are university educated, primary health care providers that are highly-trained to assess and treat injury and disability. As promoters of movement, health and wellness, they utilize their training to assess, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, movement disorders and injuries. Physiotherapists incorporate hands-on manual therapy techniques, exercises, modalities and education to help you achieve your goals.

Manual Therapy
Manual therapy refers to hands on techniques that can include massage and muscle release, fascial and contractile tissue stretching, joint mobilizations, joint manipulations, neural mobilization and passive mobility.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a treatment method where very fine needles are inserted into specific points in the body to modulate the nervous system. A physiotherapist trained in acupuncture uses traditional meridian points, but applies it using western scientific reasoning with consideration to anatomy and neuro-physiology.

Dry Needling/IMS
Intramuscular stimulation is a treatment technique that is used to release or lengthen muscles that may be contributing to chronic musculoskeletal or neuropathic pain. Very fine needles (the same ones used in acupuncture) are inserted directly into the affected muscle, in order to stimulate a neural response, allowing the area to relax. Only available with Erin Martyn

Exercise Programs
A home exercise program is an essential part of your care plan. Evidence shows that exercise is one of the most beneficial things for both our physical and mental health.
Your exercise program will be tailored to you - your body, your current abilities and your lifestyle.

Modalities
Different modalities such as ultrasound, TENS, hot and cold therapy and taping are treatment tools which may be used in your program of care. They can be used to relieve pain, decrease swelling, improve circulation and to reduce muscle spasm.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor concerns are common, and many can be effectively treated with appropriate therapies. We are pleased to offer both external and internal therapies to best determine your condition and create a tailored treatment plan.
